Château Liot is good value un-classified Sauternes. The wine is elegant and delicious if lacking in complexity and power.

Vineyard/Terrior: 20 hectares planted with 85% Sémillon, 10% Sauvignon Blanc and 5% Muscadelle.

Winemaking/Elévage: Fermentation and ageing in barrels and vats for 18 months.

Tasting notes:

• 2005 Pale gold; peaches and cream again here with some citrus elements; very nicely balanced. Will age well. Fresh. 87/100 Aug 09
• 2003 Pale gold; peaches and cream; lacks the complexity of say Doisy-Daene but good mid-weight Sauternes with attractive fruit. 86/100 Sept 06
• 2001 Pale gold; lovely delightful nose of honeysuckle and citrus; mid weight with good balance and acid. Good. 86/100 Nov 05
