  • 2015 Bold and dark; sweet and satin; strawberry jam notes; liquorice too; freshness though; some spices; fruit and grip; quite vivid palate; chewy finish but not over extracted; need to fill out in the middle. Good texture; bit of warmth on the finish. Will be impressive. [95% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 18.5ha] Drink 2019-2028. 90-92+
  • 2014 Deep and saturated colour; tight to the rim and black at centre; full and saturated aromatics; rich plummy tones; fat; palate loaded with sweet fruit and extract; little oak spice to integrate; very fat and full of extract; chewy twist to the finish and a degree of alcohol. Impressive. [95% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 18.5ha]. Drink 2020- 2028. Tasted blind Grand Cercle 29 March, 2015. 90-92+
  • 2013 Deep looking; legs; intense; inky but quite impressive; spicy plums and quite pent up – nicely done on the nose; feels layered and attractive; good attractive – spicy plum and black fruit tones nicely handled and expressed; menthol tones; nice purity. One of the best wines shown blind at the Rive Droite. Full and attractive. No hint of under-ripe fruit. Drink 2016-2025. Tasted blind 30/3/14 Rive Droite. 88-90+
  • 2012 Very dense looking; big, thick and rich colour; deep and intense nose; resin plus fruit and extract; very deep but very modern; blackcurrants; some red fruits; spice and pine notes; lots of blackcurrant fruit on the palate; big, but not excessively so; nicely done in fact. Loads and loads of fruit her but none of that VA resin or overdone tannins so nicely handled. Excellent. 90-92 Tasted blind at Cercle de Rive Droite Sunday April 7, 2013
  • 2011 Saturated look; oak saturation and intensity; quite similar to Destieux but less fruit so oak feels more pronounced; palate has a sublimated feel, ultra low cropped feel. Tannic towards the end. Very tannic indeed. Some will love this – too extreme for me. May settle, needs time. Tasted blind at Cercle Rive Droite 1/4/12. 86-88
  • 2010 Deep and arterial black; super ripe nose; some jam, unctuous; some fruit cake; ripe and sweet palate; dense and yet very easy, supple almost; chewy finish. Lots of extract lurking beneath the sweet depths, but actually pretty good. 88-90+/100 Tasted 6 April  Le Cercle Rive Droite
